The cleanability of machines and equipment in industrial sectors and subject to specific hygienic regulations, such as pharmaceutical, food and beverage is generally considered a fundamental requirement to guarantee health and safety to final consumers.
International reference bodies have set specific hygienic guidelines and criteria that a designer must follow to design, develop and manufacture equipment suitable to be used in these sectors.
Design, material and surface roughness of the components are essential factors in determining the degree of cleanability of the entire processing plant.
Specific tests carried out on ELESA+GANTER components made in Duroplast with glossy finish surface, highlighted a minimum surface roughness value. In fact, the surface roughness (Ra) is lower than 0,25 µm, a value well below the normally accepted maximum limit of Ra = 0.8 µm for these type of uses.
These components also feature compact shapes, without recesses or cavities on the entire surface to avoid the risk of contamination.
Several components suitable for manual tightening operations, handles and knobs, also available with AISI 304 stainless steel insert, ensuring high corrosion resistance, are available as standard in the ELESA+GANTER range. Executions with special inserts - different lengths, shapes or threads - can be supplied on request and for sufficient quantities.
